[ABILITIES]
Elyon is a precog, as in precognition, an ability she’s had even before becoming a ’morph. This drove her mildly psycho, though she no longer remembers that she had this ability before becoming a morph (or, to be quite honest, that she was once human), and regards it as a part of her Butterfree morph abilities. This ability allows her to see whatever misfortune may be coming in her general vicinity and some close to her, and sometimes can be prevented – if Elyon can figure out how. It’s constantly on, bombarding Elyon with scattered images that may or may not come to pass, and may or may not be significant. Understandably, this drives Elyon crazy (literally or not).
[MOVES]
Tackle, String Shot, Bug Bite, Harden, Iron Defense, Confusion, Poisonpowder, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, Gust, Supersonic, Whirlwind, Psybeam, Silver Wind, Tailwind, Safeguard, Captivate, Bug Buzz
Sunny Day, Solarbeam, Hidden Power [Fire]
[DESCRIPTION]
A skinny, waifish girl, Elyon seems to be, at first glance, just another teenage morph. Sure, most people don’t have snow-white hair (Elyon keeps hers long and straight), but most people aren’t morphs either, and lots of people can get hair dye. Maybe her eye colors are out of the ordinary – that’s right, colors, as in the plural. See, Elyon’s eyes were both gold once, but something in the Butterfree DNA went screwy and turned her left eye bright red. Elyon considers herself fortunate in that she didn’t develop gigantic compound eyes. Really, all that happened was that her skin turned dark purple and developed armor-like coverings from the neck down the same color except at various joints and her hands and feet (probably to mimic an exoskeleton), and she has huge white and black wings sprouting out of her back, not to mention antennae at her forehead. So she’s a Butterfree, big deal, have you seen some of those other morphs running around? Elyon isn’t terribly picky about her clothes (of course, she does wear the blue CODA collar at all times), considering the gigantic Butterfree wings make it hard to be really selective – as long as she can retain modesty, Elyon’s fine with what she has to wear. Elyon does tend to dress in casual clothing, and usually goes barefoot regardless of the temperature or terrain (hey, she has wings). This very weird appearance, combined with Elyon’s liquid grace and considerable economy of movement, tends to strike people as unnatural – or perhaps supernatural.
[PERSONALITY]
Elyon typically tries to pull off a stoic front around… well, everyone. This works fine sometimes, but not so much the more people spend around her. For one thing, Elyon is very passionate about whatever she happens to believe in. At the moment, this would be CODA. Elyon is extremely loyal to them, but quietly and not very obviously so. Elyon is very careful with her words, often preferring silence to an awkward statement (her tendency to mix up tenses doesn’t help either). She is very thoughtful and cautious, often weighing her actions against each other. Both of these quirks are due in a large part to her precognition, which also contributes to her air of constant distraction. Except in battle, Elyon is always dividing her attention between the present and the future, which often results in mass confusion for everyone involved.
[HISTORY]
Elyon di Angelo was born Jane Taylor, the third and youngest daughter of a middle-class family. From the beginning, Jane was different – too small, too skinny, too quiet, always too something. Her development of precognition by the time she turned three did not help any. Unfortunately for Jane, this gift was weak enough to avoid notice, but strong enough for others to notice her behavior. It came as no surprise that Jane was shunted into “special education” by the time she was in second grade.
At fourteen, adolescent mood swings coupled with Jane’s own precognition led her to run away. At the time, the Taylors were living in Viridian, and Jane managed to escape to Victory Road. Although it was the off-season, the wild Pokemon there were vicious as ever, and Jane very nearly died at the hands (er, wings? Teeth?) of a Zubat and Golbat colony. (Un?)fortunately for her, she was saved by a CODA patrol. The girl was taken to the nearby headquarters, where she was offered the chance to become a morph. Jane accepted, on the grounds they could “take away” her precognition. Of course, CODA wasn’t able to do that, but they did the next best thing. Selecting a morph that had limited psychic capabilities (for example, Xatu or Absol would have complicated things much, much further), CODA used their new Uxiemorph, Alice, to erase Jane’s memories before morphing her. The girl woke up as a Butterfreemorph with no recollection of her past, and was christened Elyon di Angelo. For the next sixth months, Elyon was retaught basic things, as well as how to fight for CODA, which Elyon has no problem with. CODA did not bother to keep Elyon’s past a secret from her, though they did omit to mention that precognition did not come with the Butterfree DNA.
At present, Elyon is still a part of CODA, gradually reintegrating herself with society before CODA sees fit to allow her into the world to fight and, eventually, die for CODA. Elyon sees nothing wrong with this.
