Lake of Rage - peaceful, serene, eerily quiet.
And boring.
The ordinary person would have considered the Lake of Rage's silence as something like the calm before a storm - a really, really vicious storm that came out of nowhere to eat you alive. This was mostly because of the rumors of Pokemorphs hiding out in various places. The ordinary person would have very little chance of defending him or herself from any roving gang of Pokemorphs, Lucem Ferre and CODA alike. Naturally, this meant traveling to the middle of nowhere where little help would be available was avoided on the most part, and the Lake of Rage happened to qualify as "the middle of nowhere".
Selim Girare was not ordinary by any means. He was incredibly bored. Or had been, at any rate.
The Giratina morph sat at the lake edge, partly hidden from view by the copse of evergreen trees he was perched in. All six tendril-like wings were curled around the trunk of his tree, red claw-like appendages gouging into the old bark slightly. His spiked tail followed suit, admittedly resting the pointed parts a conveniently-situated branch slightly below him rather than the trunk proper. He was slumped casually against the trunk, perched carefully so he wouldn't fall off. Doubtless he'd be able to wake and catch himself before hitting the ground, but that would be irritating, not to mention mildly embarrassing.
That's right, Lucem Ferre's two-year-old morph of mass destruction had snuck out to take a nap fifteen feet above the ground. No doubt the scientists were already crying bloody murder trying to figure out where the hell he went, but Selim didn't care (it was pretty hard to think about things when you were sleeping peacefully, and the dead had shut up once in a while). [[Yay rambling. -shot-]]

Indeed, the lab workers weren’t too pleased with Selim’s sudden disappearance.
Very rarely were Legendary Morphs allowed outside, and those that were usually had to be supervised. When it became apparent that the Giratina-boy was nowhere to be found inside, one was only left to assume he’d made an “escape”. Of course this resulted in lots of panic. Scientists scurried about loudly declaring that Selim could (and probably would) destroy all of them if he decided to try. Was his escape a sign of rebelliousness? Should they activate his zap-collar? No… that might just make him more upset. Researchers and staff of all sorts hurried about, checking security cameras to make sure he wasn’t just hiding inside. “Good heavens, no!” they muttered, “We may all be doomed!”
Claudandus, of course, wasn’t paying any attention. He was settled down against a wall with a paperback copy of Watership Down in his hands, and the book had his attention completely. Never mind that this was his third time reading it and he knew very well what events were waiting for him behind the next page. He was almost to his favorite part: where Hazel and the other rabbits discover the secret of the traps--
“Claudandus!” The Mewtwo-boy forced his head up in a jerky, lightning-fast motion. His addresser, a scientist, seemed afraid he was about to be attacked.
“Yes, sir?” Claudandus replied in a quiet tone that betrayed his powerful motion.
“Could you go look for Selim? We think he’s left the lab and… well, no one’s quite sure what to do. No one can agree on whether he’s leaving us to go destroy the nearest city or plotting how to blow up the lab. Perhaps you could just ehm… go see if you can find him outside?”
Claudandus blinked again. He had been outside a few times before, but never on his own. This must be pretty serious for them to ask him. Of course, he was a Legendary Pokémorph. If Selim was causing chaos, of all the people in the lab he’d be one of the most likely to survive it. Unfortunately this interrupted his reading. With a soft sigh he stood up and headed off toward the lab’s front exit, Watership Down clutched in his hand and bookmarked with a single finger.
As it turned out, things looked peaceful as always outside. The lake was calm, and nothing looked burnt or tattered. There were notably no craters in the ground from a Draco Meteor attack. So where was Selim? Claudandus glanced toward the cluster of trees nearby…
“Selim?” he called cautiously. “S-Selim…? Everyone in the lab is worried about you. C-Could you please come down from there and get back inside?”

Quiet. Calm. Silence.
Aaaaand then noise.
"...lim? S-Selim…? Everyone in the lab is worried about you. C-Could you please come down from there and get back inside?"
The Mewtwo's voice set off a chain reaction - Selim woke up disgruntledly, though it would've been hard to tell from his body language alone, given he hadn't moved much to avoid losing his balance and falling from his branch. The dead spirits that clung to his general vicinity began yammering again, which was cause enough for Selim to wish Claudandus had managed to trip over his own feet and pitch face-first into the lake -- no, was that Tatsuya, irritated by his fellow Mewtwo morph as he always was? Oh, never mind, it didn't matter.
"Why should I?" Selim called down, relatively grumpily for the Giratina morph. "They're all pricks." Okay, that was definitely Mary Madeleine with a mix of Tatsuya. Soon after he'd finished speaking, "... Fine." Yin and Caleb had a point, though he wasn't about to admit it. Selim disentangled his various limbs from the tree and drifted down, not quite touching ground, but then, he never did in Origin Forme. "Hello, Claudandus," he added belatedly, mostly to get Yin to stop scolding him about his manners.
So much for getting a good nap, Selim grumbled mentally. ((So I fail at characterization. >3>))

"H-Hi," Claudandus responded cautiously, backing away a bit. He didn't want to seem like he was afraid of Selim, but, as usual, he wasn't doing a very good job of looking calm. Selim was just so unpredictable. It probably had something to do with those "voices" he was always talking about. Thus, Claudandus never knew what to expect. Which frightened him.
"I'm uhm... Sorry if I interrupted anything. Just obeying orders."
Mentally he scolded himself for putting it so stupidly.
"You're coming back now, right?"
(([/small] Oh, and I think we should find a way to throw some more charries into this. A battle or something would be fun now; lot more fun than just "AND THEY WENT INSIDE AND THE THREAD ENDED IN FOUR POSTS." D:))

((Another Legendary. Wow, three Legendaries in one place... O.o))
Selim wasn't the only one who snuck out today.
Alyss slithered smoothly through the air, her green scales reflecting the light of the big, bright sun. She atempted to smile with her hard, lizardly, red lips, but she could only manage a small grin. She was feeling cheerful and peppy, so there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Two dark purple rings glinted off her horns as she sidled down beside the lake, floating slightly. She searched through a clinking chainmail bag before bringing out an enormous piece of slate and and equally large slate pencil. She looked around once, and caught sight of a majestic ash tree. She started scribbling, a crude likeness of the tree appearing on the slate.
Alyss likes drawing. Drawing fun. But lab boring. Nobody to play with Alyss. She thought to herself as she finished the drawing. It was a vauge tree shape with a scribble that was supposed to look like herself under it. She looked around and cocked her head when she saw two other legendaries sitting under a big tree. When she approached she reconised Selim, the not-so-huggable Giritina boy. Then Claudy, as she had come to call the nice, huggable Mewtwo boy. Of course, both boys she was scared of, but she pushed that away as she approached. The constant breeze around her rusting the leaves of the trees.
"Hello!"
That was all she spoke. Well, not really spoke, but thought. She sent that simple hello to Selim's and Claudandus's minds.

Selim, distracted by Tatsuya and Caleb's one-sided bickering, didn't really hear Claudandus's words at first. He did catch the tail end of one sentence, though.
"...back now, right?"
"What?" Yin helpfully repeated Claudandus's question, and Selim sighed. "Yes." Unfortunately, which may or may not have been Mary Madeleine's contribution. But then, Selim didn't really want to go back into the labs either, mostly because it was boring. And hard to sleep, what with all the angry dead ghosts hanging around. The Lake of Rage was quieter - less people and Pokemon killed before what they considered their time. Still, orders were orders and collars were irritating.
A glance of bright light off of green armor caught Selim's eye. Wind came out of the blue, sending the trees rustling in what Little Ana imagined was fear (shut up, Ana, Selim thought). Well, there was only one person it could be. He looked in the general direction the Rayquazamorph was approaching from. Selim nodded briefly but, beyond that, didn't react to Alyss's greeting.

Alyss tilted her head to the left. "Why you never say 'Hi' back? You no like Alyss, that why." She blinked once, then reverted her gaze to Claudandus. "Hiya Claudy! You walk too?" She asked, her small reptilian smile sneaking it's way across her face. She reached down and scratched at the dirt, picking up a small rock. It was about human fist size, which made it barely big enough for her to hold. She coiled her long forty-foot body up and threw the rock in the lake. Even coiled up, she towered over Claudandus and Selim, at a full twenty-and-something feet tall. She picked out the slate she had drawn on from her bag and showed it to the two legendaries in front of her. "You like?" She ventured, hoping they would appreciate her drawing.
((Maybe one of you guys could smash her slate and make her mad. That could make a nice interesting fight.))

Selim craned his head back slightly to glance into the otherwise serpentine's morph strangely human eyes. Besides that, he showed no signs of acknowledging the Rayquaza morph's massive size, much less intimidation. The Giratina morph did not intimidate well.
He did not bother to answer Alyss's question, especially after she answered it herself. Not to mention it was the truth - while Selim did not dislike Alyss, he did not like her either. It was Selim's general opinion towards most things. Which was why he then answered her second question with a concise and simple, "No." Art in general never interested Selim, much less pine trees. He blew a stray strand of blond hair away from his face, ignoring Tatsuya's jeering at the scribble that was probably supposed to be a tree.
[[/would so have Selim do that but he doesn't care enough. |D]]

The sight of Alyss slightly unnerved Claudandus, as it always did. He knew there was nothing to fear from her; she was large and clearly displayed great power, but at the same time she seemed to have the mindset of a child. She was gentle... Much like Claudandus himself. Though the sight of a giant green dragon-girl was still instinctually not the most pleasant thing to him. It made him feel guilty.
"H-Hello, Alyss," he said in his usual quiet tone. "That's a nice picture. And, erm... yes. As a matter of fact, I do walk."
He fiddled with the copy of Watership Down in his hands nervously. This whole 'bring back Selim' mission wasn't going very well on his part. Perhaps he should go get help...? No... That would seem odd. All he had to do was get Selim back inside. And what about Alyss? It would be rude just to leave her all by herself, wouldn't it...? The little Mewtwo Morph pondered this silently, trying to consider what he should do.
((Baaw, yanno Claudy's too much of a wimp to even consider doin' something like that~ xD))

[[ You do that. In the meanwhile, I'll break the slate. >:D ]]
Fishing was a bother. Kuma plunged her hand into the water of the lake as her eyes caught the slightest movement of the magikarp lurking underneath. But as her hand closed around water, she frowned and took it out. ”Damn, this is getting ridiculous.” The riolu morph sighed in exasperation. ”How unusual, though… the fish are restless.” She stared into the water, past the reflection and the surface, and locked onto yet another magikarp. Once again, she made another attempt to grab the fish, but missed. This time, however, the girl tumbled into the water. It was cold. She flailed around, eyes shut tightly. Once she managed to find out what direction was up and what was down, she calmed down and broke the surface, gasping for air. ”Eff! Clothes are all wet now.” She spat angrily and upon spotting yet another magikarp in the water, she lunged at it, got it in a neck lock with one arm, and proceeded to beat the crap out of it with the other.
In seconds she emerged, clambering onto the bank with a bloody magikarp, looking pleased with herself. Wet clothes weren't too much of a bother on her back, especially when she had a treat. ”Little shitbag got what’s coming to ‘im.” She glanced to the lab in the distance, and then carried the fish to more leveled ground. Kuma didn’t have time to enjoy it, however, because at that moment, a giant green thing came from the sky. She’d seen it in picturebooks – rayquaza, but a deformed one. A morph? Her eyes narrowed and she quickly dove behind some dense bushes, carrying the karp with her. ”Legendary morph, huh.” Kuma glared through some of the gaps between the twigs and leaves, ”Doesn’t look tough. What’s it doing?” Her eyes followed the pencil and the slate. ”Drawing?” Weren’t legendaries supposed to be used for mass destruction, not petty little arts and crafts? A dark smirk crossed her expression and she continued watching, nomming on the raw magikarp.
When the Rayquaza flew off and landed in a secluded spot nearby, she looked up from her meal. There, coiled up like a giant, weird snake was the legendary, with two other morphs. She didn’t need to squint to see the other two, even if they were a pretty good distant away. Both were deformed as well, kinda funny looking. She could tell they were legendary morphs, as well. Greeeaaat.
”Y’know, I’ve never seen a legendary morph in action,” She told the corpse of the magikarp, which was half eaten. Only the head, with its wide, gaping eyes, remained. ”Let’s find out…” Kuma slunk back into the trees surrounding the lake and crept closer to the group. She climbed up one of them to get a higher vantage point, sitting comfortably on a low branch, close to the shadows. She saw the drawing that the rayquaza morph had made: a deformed, ugly thing that looked more like a hand with no distinctive fingers. It made her want to kill it on sight. So she looked down at the palm of her hand-paw and formed a small, tiny sphere that blazed with a blue aura. It grew larger until it was the size of a soft ball. She reared back on the tree branch and threw it right at the slate, watching with a cackle as it hit right on mark and made the thing crumble. She hopped onto another branch, like a squirrel, and ducked behind the leaves, snickering.

Alyss blinked as her precious slate shattered in her hands, broken by some big meanie. Tears watered in her eyes. She started shaking. "Sniffle." The air around her whipped around at the speed of the tornado. A hurricane started forming. "YOU BIG MEANIE!" She cried out, turning around. A Riolu morph sat in a branch, her eyes glowing green. She opened her mouth, screaming, "HYBER BEAM!" She shot a yellow-gold beam and the Riolu Pokemorph. The hurricane she had created swirled around her. Rain and vicious winds caused the lake to overflow and churn. She rose up to her forty-foot height and roared. A terrible, earth-shaking roar. She slashed her sharp claws at Kuma.

This was bad.
Very, very bad.
Claudandus fell over at the force of the winds and yelped, tucking his precious book close to his chest in a futile attempt to shield its pages from the rain. He stared at Alyss in shock and terror. Only a moment ago she had seemed so friendly and peaceful. And now... Well, now he had to get help. Fast.
Instinctually he scrambled to his feet and made a clumsy mad dash for the lab when he suddenly remembered: Selim. He couldn't just leave him here... could he?
"S-Selim! We need to get back inside..."
Already he could see lab-workers emerging from the safety inside to gasp, apalled, at the scene unfolding before them. They'd been worried about Selim before. Now they were in a complete and total panic. The nearest one happened to notice Claudandus and Selim standing idly by and shouted frantically at them:
"Y-Y-You two! What are you doing just watching? Stop her!!"

Selim watched Alyss's slate break with detachment. He honestly didn't care what happened to it. As the winds began to roar in response to the Rayquaza's rage, Selim's wings reflexively drew closer to him, shielding him from some of the cold. He watched Alyss begin her rampage, and he could hear his pulse rushing in his ears - probably the adrenaline, if Yin was right. His fingertips ached, unconsciously gathering energy.
"...need to get back inside..."
"No, we don't," Selim said softly, voice almost inaudible. Tatsuya echoed his statement much more violently, and Selim was sure if he had possessed a face, it would have been twisted into that demonic smile that had been recorded on the lab cameras mere moments before his death. Selim could feel his own power, and something savage and primal inside him wanted to challenge this serpent-girl.
One order cut through the cold clarity Selim gathered around like a cloak. "Stop her!"
"With pleasure," Selim breathed, not sure how much of it was Yin's voice or his own. His wings unfurled, trailing behind him like war banners as he sprinted forward, dissolving into shadow and darkness. The Giratinamorph disappeared into the Distortion World, reappearing scant seconds later in the air above Alyss's neck, slamming into the base of her monstrous skull, the absolution energy shrouding him like a mantle and giving even more force to the blow.
